LinkedIn Students boils LinkedIn down into a more simplified version that focuses on getting young people on certain career paths through relevant connections and providing details about positions.

Based on your personal information — i.e. where you went to college or your major — LinkedIn Students will suggest specific alumni and professionals in relevant positions to connect with (and even find mentors this way).

LinkedIn Students informs users about positions relevant to their degrees that they may not have known about.

The app also suggests positions relevant to students’ degrees that they may have not considered, according to the official LinkedIn blog post, and tell students whether a company frequently hires from their school. New suggestions pop up daily.

The company says the goal is to cut down on time normally spent searching through job databases or LinkedIn itself.

LinkedIn Students gives you daily recommendations of jobs to check out and people to connect with.

While not every possible position available to recent and almost-grads will be featured on LinkedIn Students, it’ll at least serve as a reminder to stay on top of the job search and learn more about what positions make sense for young professionals.
