1. Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge

Like iPhones, you can always count on flagship Galaxy phones to be Samsung’s best phones and the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are no different. The premium metal-and-glass designs are more polished, the screens as beautiful and sharp as ever and the performance ridiculously fast.

For the new devices, Samsung’s brought back the expandable storage with a microSD card slot and water resistance. The batteries are also bigger so the phones last longer, and the back camera, despite having less resolution than the GS6 and GS6 Edge, take better low-light photos and focus faster than any other phone camera.

2. LG G5

Not to be outdone by Samsung again, LG’s G5 is equally as impressive. Not only does the G5 come with a stunning 5.3-inch Quad HD screen, powerful specs (Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM) and a metal body (finally), but it’s modular.

You can pop off the bottom half and swap out the battery or connect a camera accessory with a grip, shutter button and a bigger battery. It’s insane and is the first exciting phone idea we’ve seen in years.

3. FlexEnable flexible bracelet

One day our phones will wrap around our wrists and we’ll laugh at how we ever thought it was okay to stuff a phablet in our pants. Until that day comes, we’ll just have to make do with prototypes like this one from FlexEnable.

The flexible screen gives us a glimpse into the future, but man, the gauntlet it’s contained in sure as hell isn’t comfortable at all.

5. Sony’s Xperia concepts

Sony’s new Xperia X smartphones are cool, but its Xperia concept products are more amazing.

The company unveiled four intelligent devices that are designed to adapt to your preferences, activities and behavior. The Xperia Agent is an adorable little robot assistant that projects information onto a surface and understands voice commands like the Amazon Echo. The Xperia Projector is a portable projector that projects touchable screens onto surfaces like walls and has a built-in camera for video conferencing. The Xperia Camera is a new take on a life-logging camera, and the Xperia Ear is a smart earbud that lets you perform hands-free controls like making calls, texting and getting directions without needing to take your phone out.
