Google For Jobs is a new tool which allows people to search for the job listings based on how close it’s to their home, job title, when the job was posted, whether it should be part-time or full-time, etc. The tool can be accessed in Google Search itself and features jobs from various platform Google has partnered with.
After making the announcement about a new job search tool at this year’s Google I/O conference, the search giant finally rolled out Google For Jobs yesterday. The platform helps both job seekers employers connect with each other, Google says.
As already known, the AI-powered job search engine displays job listings from other leading portals like Monster, Linkedin, WayUp, DirectEmployers, CareerBuilder, Glassdoor, etc.
The service is currently available in the United States where people can make job-related queries like “jobs near me” in Google Search.
Various filters allow people to narrow down jobs based on their location, job title, employer reviews, and other things. Google For Jobs can also send email alerts when new listings arrive.
Cloud Jobs API, announced last year, is the real driving force behind Google For Jobs. It allows access to Search and machine learning algorithms developed by Google. The company says it allows applicant tracking systems, staffing agencies, company career websites, etc. to serve relevant job openings to the aspirants.
Shorter commute times play an important role while attracting potential recruits. According to a talent shortage survey conducted by ManpowerGroup, around 46% of the employers in the US are facing talent shortages and filling the job openings with the right candidates. Even it’s hard for the people to search jobs that fit them the most.
Google has published a set of guidelines for the job providers to get their openings appear in Google’s job and search engine. They have also detailed how the employers can make their jobs more visible in front of the audience. The service is expected to launch soon in other regions also.
